It's that time of year again, it's the 91st Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival! The Bloom has been putting Winchester on the map since 1924 by bringing our small town to the attention of professional athletes, actors and actresses, reality television stars, business leaders and tourists everywhere. But, let's be real. For us locals, it's all about having a good time with our friends over food and drink.
So, here's our top picks for food and drink this year. Happy Bloom!
Friday, April 27 (3-10pm)
Start the Apple Blossom festivities off with a clink at the annual wine fest, featuring local wineries, food vendors and live music!
Sunday, April 29 (11am-2pm)
What better way to celebrate Apple Blossom than with an orchard tour and tasting at Winchester Ciderworks? Bring the whole family and enjoy live bluegrass music by Davis Bradley, food from Hog-It-Up BBQ, and a petting zoo courtesy of Heavenly Heart Farm & Mini Petting Zoo.
Thursday, May 3 (11am-1:30pm)
Sad you missed out on the Kentucky Derby? We got you covered. The Bloomtown Derby is back, featuring six food and wine pairings and the signature cocktail, The Pink Derby. Don’t be afraid to wear your derby best for the Bloomtown Derby hat contest!
Friday, May 4 (10am-11pm)
We don’t think we need to back this one up...but, there is no easier place to get your fill on carnival classics like the Old Town Midway. All the greats (deep-fried oreos, cotton candy and caramel apples) will be there and maybe a few new ones will show up.
Friday, May 4 (12pm-12am)
Have a drink to forget the blues of the week or kick-start your day off by partying with Winchester Brew Works and Sexi-Mexi Burritos.
