Best subs in town! I originally would just order their pizzas--they put lots of cheese and toppings on them--but I recently tried their cold Italian sub (get no mayo and ask for Italian dressing on the side) and it tastes like a real hoagie from Philly! Their cheesesteaks also taste very authentic-delicious and super affordable! — Anonymous Reviewer

Stopped in one evening as we were strolling the walking mall. We ordered a pizza and a bottle of Prosecco. The waitress was a complete ditz, forgot our drink order twice while making attempts to flirt with a table of guys nearby...and then when she brought out the Prosecco, it was a bottle that had already been opened, and CLEARLY had been sitting in the fridge inside...it was completely flat. Anybody who knows what Prosecco is, knows that it's a sparkling wine with BUBBLES. We asked to see the owner, who came out and "assured us" that it was just opened inside, and that it should *not* have any bubbles. We didn't argue with her, and we left. I won't be going back to this place...there are plenty of other pizza joints around. Word to the wise...don't EVER pay for a bottle of wine that is not opened AT YOUR TABLE. — Anonymous Reviewer

My husband and I had lunch here for the first time today and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. The lunch special was the best sausage sandwich we've had in a long time. We will definitely return. — Anonymous Reviewer

Ate here the other day with some friends and customer service sucked. They were rude and glared at us the entire time and seemed as if they were making smart comments to eachother. When other customers came in however they were nice as could be. Food was good, but will not support or continue to dine in a place where you're frowned upon for no reason. Very Rude. — Anonymous Reviewer

It's very surprising to read any negative review of this place, because every experience I've had here has been positive. In fact, I would say I'm selective when it comes to pizza and Italian food in general (I boycott Olive Garden and most chains!) but Giovanni's is solid. The lunch specials are so reasonably priced; you can't complain about that. I had a sausage parm sub for $3 or $4 and it was the perfect size and quite tasty. I've had pizza on numerous occasions, which I found to be amazing. I compare everything to Papa John's (the one chain I will support) and 3.14 pizza, and Giovanni ranks in there. It's a great location, with a nice outdoor patio, and from what I've experienced, pleasant service. I will add that the house salads are delish as well, topped with a fair amount of cheese--my favorite. I haven't tried other dinner entrees, but for lunch or a pizza, this is the place to go. — Anonymous Reviewer

Will never go back which is a shame since they aren't a chain restaurant. I work in the food service industry on the supplier side and prefer not to patronize the chains if given the choice. Their menu is very limited and un-interesting. I ordered manicotti, which was very blah with no flavor and IMO appeared to be a purchased product which was heated/baked/served. My friend ordered chicken cacciatore which appeared to have been cooked and reheated and reheated some more for days or longer - the sauce was very dark, then they added some fresh sauce over top which was in start contrast to the other sauce - the meat was a true mystery because it definitely didn't taste like chicken - needless to say the cacciatore wasn't eaten. We were the first to be seated outside in the evening; however, several smokers arrived, including the employees standing out front smoking - very disgusting and ruined any chance of tasting the food which may have been a good thing. Don't waste your money here, there are too many other better Italian restaurants to patronize - Olive Garden would have been better than this. Cantina D'Italia would be at the top of my list. — Anonymous Reviewer

The pizza was good. It wasn't the best I ever had but good quality compared to others. The service could have been a little quicker since it wasn't really packed but in all I would go back again. — Anonymous Reviewer

CONSUMER BEWARE! READ THE SMALL PRINT! We had lunch at Giovanni's yesterday. We have eaten there on a few other occasions and have found the food to be good, not necessarily great. The lunch special posted outside stated "2 slices of cheese pizza or grilled chicken salad $5.99" Then below was posted "drink is included in price." Posted below in very small letters was (Pepsi products). The three of us ordered the specials - 2 salads and 1 pizza, plus a ginger ale, diet Pepsi and unsweetened iced tea. The food was average, sodas were good, the iced tea was very bitter and strong. When the check arrived, we had been charged for 1 iced tea and 1 Pepsi. When we could finally get our server's attention to ask about the additional charges, she acted as if she knew what we were going to ask before we could get the question out. She said "Oops...I shouldn't have charged you for the diet Pepsi!" However, the iced tea charge stayed on. So for the $2.45 extra drink that they charged us, they lost our return business forever. We will not be back. — Anonymous Reviewer

My wife and I decided to give this restaurant a try as we like dining on the Old Mall. BAD decision. This is probably the worst Italian we have ever tasted. Our veal parmigiana was seamingly processed. It came out with two identically sized round pieces, heavily breaded and burned. The marinara tasted like it came from a jar. Even the garlic bread didn't have any garlic taste. There are much better Italian restaurants in our area...save yourself some money and try one of those. Wish I could give zero stars. — Anonymous Reviewer
