Have visited El Ranchito twice recently. Very impressed with the quality of their food. Had steak and chicken burritos and my first pusado...it was surprisingly good. The number of customers -- few -- is not a reflection of how good the restaurant is. Will definitely return.

This place reminds me of the ma/pa mexican restaurants when I was in college and traveling through South America. Food is cheap ($6-12) and you will get good sized portions. They do sell lengua (cow tongue), menudo (tripe), etc. as a regular part of the menu. I stuck with something safe (2 beef burritos for $6), and I will return to avoid the fast food alternatives.

The restaurant is found across from the Battery Mart. The problem is location, and parking can be a pain depending if there is a crowd or not. Another is that the service tends to be slow, and you need to get their attention to order.
