Place is a little rough, and sometimes they're out of bagels, but I've never had a bad sandwich there. They have always been fast and pleasant enough. For a breakfast bagel sandwich, I can't think of a better place.

I have dined here, carried out, or had food delivered from this restaurant multiple times. The bagels are awful. I am Jewish, grew up around Jewish culture and food and these bagels are just a bad imitation. Panera bread comes closer. The cold deli meat is questionable and the hot sandwiches are a greasy mess. The only tasty thing (hence the once star) this place serves is the lasagna.

This was the second time I have ordered from from here, both times they delivered faster than what they quoted. This time they quoted us 30 minutes and it was here less then 20. The food it self is outstanding. The meat is always piled high and the selection is awesome. I would highly recommend them and will be returning often.

I ordered a sandwich to be delivered and an hour and a half later the sandwich was nowhere to be seen. I called to check on it and they told me that the delivery person had left some time ago to deliver it. On top of that, they charged a $5 delivery fee on my card to drive across town after they asked me if I was making a big order and I said no.

I really gave this place a chance because I really like a good bagel but on FOUR different visits in the last month (different days and times, including once at opening), I found that:

1) No fresh bagels were available on two of the visits.
2) Was training a new baker so no bagels would be available till 10:00 a.m. on a Saturday!
3) Not a Master baker as advertised.
4) Staff and management did not care that they did not have a LARGE order ready that I placed the day before for a lunch meeting.

Been opened too long for this be be a learning curve.

We were here not to long ago and found the food to be very good (We both had sandwiches ) We also tried the homemade biscotti which was excellent ! True, there were very few bagels when we were there but the ones that they did have were also very good. (We took some home to enjoy along with the cream cheese spread that they make there) The owner is always very nice and greets you upon entering and the wait wasn't an issue either. Unless our three visits were a fluke, this is one of the best places to come for good food !

This is a great place - service, quality, value, cleanliness-
all of it!

The Bagels are exactly what you'd get in New York, with all the fixings!
The chef is from New York City, and knows what a bagel should be, as does every New Yorker, despite their ethnic origins; but with one big exception—the chef is a master baker!
His Italian dishes are the real deal!! The Italian dishes represent cooking that you
would get if you were invited to an Italian home for dinner in Brooklyn! Other Ethnic sandwiches, like his wide variety of "Panini", a kind of Italian sandwich, and his Cuban sandwich, are authentic, right on the button,... and absolutely delicious! The home-style baked goods are wonderful too, including the "Biscotti", a firm baked semi-sweet Italian biscuit, great for dunking!
City Bagel’s pizza IS New York- one bite and I was standing in "Little Italy" in New York!!

The chef is a gifted cook, who loves to please people with his food, and carries out the New York AND Italian culinary tradition in his cooking. Save yourself the trip to The Big Apple, and let City Bagels cook you something. The prices are great, and for about the same price as a large
sub from a chain, you'll get a home-style sandwich or meal that you won't forget!

Some of the best food in town! I walked in to order some sandwiches to go. I couldn't figure what I wanted for myself and they suggested "The Old town Reuben" with pastrami. It was DELICIOUS! I now have a favorite sandwich shop and I highly recommend it to anyone.

We order from here once a week on a Sat. or Sun. since we work in NOVA. I grew up here and there was never a decent place to get a bagel. This place is fantastic! The bagels are good and the cream cheeses are even better! Be prepared to spend some time there though. They are very friendly, but VERY slow. They deliver too, which is always a nice option for the weekend mornings!

This place would be nice if they would keep their stock of bagels up. EVERY time I go in there they have sold out of nearly every bagel on the menu. I'm sure that they know they're going to be open for business every day, why not make more of the bagels you sell out of all the time? Must be lacking common sense.

For lunch and guests, I ordered five bagel sandwiches and a non-bagel sandwich this week. I had them delivered in the city, and they arrived VERY quickly! I appreciated the fact that a rep from the business contacted me to double-check my order on one of the particular sandwiches.
All the food cost less than $30 and it was delicious! The bagels were very fresh, and the delivery man could not have been nicer!

My wife and I went to City Bagel this morning and I don't understand the negative reviews. The bagels were fresh and delicious. We both got breakfast sandwiches which I'm happy to say were probably the best breakfast sandwiches we've had in the area. They made the eggs and bacon fresh on a skillet as opposed to microwaving premade breakfast foods. The prices were great, and the service was good. City Bagels will definitely become a regular breakfast spot for us.

I am an ex-new yorker living in VA now for 10 years. I was excited to see a "new york" bagel place open up and went down to get my favorite sandwich turkey with mayo on an everything. The service was ok. I noticed the food in the display case looked moldy and old, and the bagels didn't have a realy fresh look to them. This was 12:30 or so in the afternoon.

I got my order and started to eat my sandwich and noticed that the bagel did NOT taste like it was made that day, but had a day old texture and taste. Those of you from NY or familiar with fresh bagels KNOW the difference! I was SOOOO disapointed! I will not go back there just because I don't want to get disapointed again. Will be going back to Panera to get my bagels. AT least I know they are fresh.

If I could give a rating of zero, I would. Because of my schedule, I eat out a lot (normally only cook maybe 2 times a week total), and this truly is one of the worst eating places I have ever set foot in in my 37 years on this planet.

I was there at 8:30 in the morning, a normal time for a bagel place to be open and ready for business. Was greeted rudely not once, not twice, but three times by three differently employees. All three of them acted like they had much more important things to be doing than actually waiting on a paying customer. There was a grand total of 4 bagels made. Not 4 kinds. But 4 bagels! I got 2 of the 4 and asked for them to be toasted. Big big mistake. Apparently, toasted in NYC means completely burned to a crisp. When I asked about why they burned them, I was told they were not burned, and that was how bagels were supposed to be. They had three pots of coffee out, every one of them empty. I told someone behind the counter, and the guy just looked at me, turned around and went back to making bagels, never once making any attempt to offer me something else other than the coffee I had paid for which I now could not get. I just left the 2 burned bagels (half their daily inventory apparently) on the table the left.

This place is to be avoided at any and all costs.

Very disappointed in the Spaghetti meal I had last weekend. Didn't even have any bread with the meal. $22.00 for 2 orders, a side salad, cole slaw and 2 drinks. I was there months ago and had soup and a bagel, but Panera soup in a bread bowl is much better. Staff acted like they had never worked together. Too many cooks in the kitchen.

I placed an order on Fri. for a dozen to be picked up Sat. at 8 AM (I spoke to a manager). I drove across town, there by 8; the order was not touched. I was told to wait "10-12 minutes". After 25 minutes I noted that none of the three types of bagels I ordered were in the display case. I canceled the order and left. There was no explanation, no excuse, no summons of the manager that there was a disgruntled customer, and no phone call (he had my name and phone number). Try it again? - I doubt it.

My first time there, both bagels were burned after being put through the toaster. I thought I would give them a second chance since I absolutely love bagels.

I waited 5 minutes because both employees up front were busy making sandwiches. They both noticed me but didn't say anything. Then two women walked in who obviously knew the guy working up front. He proceeded to tell them he'd be right with them. Wouldn't you know...he completely ignored me and took their order! I walked right out. I will NEVER be buying any food from here. This was incredibly insulting. I will be more than happy to drive 15 minutes across town to get bagels from Panera.

Fantastic! It is so hard to find real bagels in Winchester, and these are SO GOOD! The everything and egg everything bagels are my favorite but they're all good. Their cream cheese is fantastic-the light and light veggie are delicious and my favorite is the lox cream cheese-DELICIOUS! You have to try the pretzel rolls-fantastic! They also carry premade foods and fresh mozzeralla-this is a great find that sells things you can't find anywhere else in Winchester!

We liked them! Reminded me of a bagel in NYC (wife is from the Bronx, love Bagels and Lox when we visit). The bagels are just the right size as well. I had a garlic bagel (they were out of the Everything when we ordered) with lox, scallion cream cheese, tomatoes, red onion, capers, and lettuce. Missed the lettuce on the menu board, would have had them hold that if I'd noticed. Wife had an onion bagel, with the same toppings.

The lox were belly lox evidently, they were out of their normal lox that day, and belly lox is always extra extra salty, so figure that was what it was. Sooooo good to have real lox instead of smoked salmon that we normally get around here.

Price was exactly what we were expecting for it ($9.95 each), if folks think they are expensive, then eat somewhere else because you obviously don't know what a good bagel sandwich costs.

Service was extremely friendly, though the other folks are right in that they are trying to work out the kinks of their service process. We were happy though, at least they were all extremely friendly and helpful if disorganized.

On the way out we also picked up some bagels to go. They had hot just made Everything Bagels that came up while we were eating, so we got a couple of those, a salt, and a pretzel roll. The warm Everything got ate on the way home since it smelled so good. :) The other bagels were excellent the next morning, wish we'd had gotten some lox and scallion cream cheese to take home too, but made do with crappy store bought cream cheese with chives.

Pretzel roll was also yummy. Yeah, very happy City Bagel is in town, hope they are able to survive!

No menus and an untrained staff makes for a long wait, and the food overly priced. I can't tell if it wants to be a bagel shop or a deli or restaurant. Some advice: Stick with what you do best and that will draw customers and have menu out when you open up a business.

We were very excited to have a breakfast delivery deli in the area but unfortunately they were very disappointing. Four of us ordered bagel sandwiches and the total was $48!!!! Not only were the bagels expensive they were not very good and were not toasted. Delivery also took a long time. Will not be ordering again.
