I LOVE this restaurant! We had a group lunch this afternoon at Chop Stick Cafe and I was amazed at the service considering the size of our party (16). I ordered the Smoked Salmon Roll and Thai Spicy Chicken Salad. The flavor makes my taste-buds pop! Most excellent!

Consistently excellent. I have never had a thing there that was even mediocre. The Thai Beef Stew is wonderful and very nice sushi. It has a very welcoming cozy atmosphere and you get a great feeling knowing you're supporting a small family-owned place. Don't miss it. Soooo much better than 97% of Winchester's offerings.

Finally made my first trip to Chop Stick Café for lunch on Friday afternoon. I’ve been eye-balling this place for a long time and with the number of positive reviews, I had high expectations. Chop Stick’s did not disappoint! The owner was super friendly and discussed menu options and sold my wife on the lunch special (3 piece shrimp and fish w/rice). Her meal had awesome flavor and a nice crispy crunch on the fish and shrimp. For an appetizer, we ordered the Philadelphia Roll. The 8 pieces were tasty and well portioned. My meal consisted of the Bulgogi BBQ Burger (with bacon). I didn’t option for the fried egg; however, it probably would have been great. Nonetheless, this burger is easily hands down the BEST burger I’ve ever had in Winchester! Super flavor and very large. This establishment is easily the best I’ve experienced in Winchester when it comes to fresh food, great menu selection and super friendly customer service. There is also a very large selection of beers to choose from should you decide to order from their beverage selection. I highly recommend Chop Stick Café!

Just moved to Winchester and still finding all the best local spots, and this is definitely one of them! Best Pad Thai I've found so far and their Raspberry Pie is absolutely amazing! The prices are great as well: Dinner, a beer, and dessert for $20!!! I've only been once, and that's all it took to be convinced that I'll be back!!

We first went to Chopstick Cafe a little over a year ago and have been regulars since. The food here is excellent. Everything we have had we have enjoyed. My favorites are the Saturday special which is the Orange Prime Beef (so tender with an excellent sauce), and I always get the fried wontons with the best dipping sauce ever (kind of a spicy duck sauce). My girlfriend's favorites are the Pho, the Japanese Seafood Udon Noodle Soup, the Pad Thai, and the Garden Rolls. I highly recommend this fine restaurant to all.

Mediocre sushi at best. Tonight there were 2 large parties and an otherwise full to the brim house. The owners' children were running rampant through the small space and there was a band. I ordered 2 sushi rolls and a seaweed salad. After waiting over 30 minutes for my sushi to arrive, a sheepish teen (a daughter of the owners) informed me the "new girl" took my order to another table. So I didn't get my order--I got the other table's order. There was nothing comp'ed on my check and I paid full price for what I was served, but I also ran out of my drink and was otherwise ignored.

Will never go back again!

We went to Chop Stick based on the reviews on this site. The best Asian food in all of Frederick County! Their won ton soup has the most amazing broth I have ever tasted, and the sushi is sensational.

This is not your typical Chinese restaurant. The menu consists of sushi, sandwiches, a TON of appetizers, noodle dishes, etc. I do not have enough good things to say about the fresh, quality dishes that Chop Stick Cafe serves. The service is great too; a very "family oriented" feel....

My girlfriend and I have been to Chopstick Cafe a few times now and every time the food has been very good. My girlfriend loves the pad thai, the pho, garden rolls, and the key lime pie. I love the fried wontons with the spicy duck sauce. They have excellent sandwiches and fries as well if some of the Asian cuisine isn't your thing. The staff has been very friendly and the service has been good. We will definitely be adding this to our rotation of restaurants we frequent.

I'm always happy with the experience at Chop Stick Cafe, the food is always good and the people are always incredibly friendly. Tonight I had the steamed dumplings and a crispy tuna roll and I'm leaving totally satisfied. For a place that doesn't look like much, especially being across the street from the looming Piccadilly's Public House it is one of Winchesters best hidden treasures

There's a show on the Food Network called The Best Thing I Ever Ate, where they feature different catagories of food. I think I've officially found it in the soup category. This place serves a noodle soup called, rather awkwardly ableit accurately, on the menu, Thai Beef Stew Noodles. Think of the best Pho (Vietnamese beef noodle soup) you've ever eaten amped up about twice as good. Beef bones and all sorts of aromatics like garlic, cinnamon, galangal, (kinda like ginger but not really) and some others I can't pick out, are simmered for about 8 hours, and the broth is served over rice noodles with shaved raw beef (brisket or round-eye I think) and topped with scallions, onion and cilantro. The richest most satisfying broth you can imagine. Caution: On one visit the beef was dry and crumbly, but only once. I personally like it with a squeeze of lime juice and a bit of sriracha chile sauce. You know the food is good when everyone at the table is eating and no one's talking. Heavenly! I asked the chef how she makes it, and she just smiled and said, "just with love." I hope heaven hires Joy as their chef.

We are from mississippi. Everytime we go somewhere new, we always look for a Thai resturant. The food here is really good and full of flavor. Ingredents are fresh. Service was good. Seemed to be family owned and the cook is actually Thai. The best Satay I have ever eaten. Great place to eat. I will be back if ever in this area again.

Stopped in at Chop Stick Cafe during the Firefighter's Parade during the Apple Blossom Festival. Needless to say, it was pretty darn busy. My husband ordered the Pad Thai, I ordered the Pho. My Pho was alright. Yeah, just alright. I have been spoiled, I guess. I just couldn't taste any of the cloves or anise or cinnamon or any of those lovely spices that make pho so much more than beefy noodle soup. My husband's pad thai was pretty darn good, though! Spicy and yummy! I also love love love that they have a children's menu. It's hard enough to keep a 3 year old contained in a restaurant, but when there's nothing that 3 year old will eat on the menu, it's even worse! So, a big thank you to the owners for that little perk for parents! What made this place worthy of 5 stars was definitely the staff. Everyone was super friendly despite how crazy busy it was. The food came out in a timely manner. Our waitress was on the ball the whole time and we were very well taken care of. I will definitely be back!!

The best food in town. My husband and I are food snobs and love a good meal, from a dive or a nice place, and Chop Sticks serves one heck of an excellent meal. We eat here several nights a week. Haven't been to any other restaurant since we started going to Chop Sticks. Both Tom and Joy are wonderful cooks. They can make anything and it will always be delicious. VERY RECOMMENDED!!!

I eat at Chopsticks 3 times a week, really. It is that good. I don't order from the menu so if you want something they do their best to serve. One thing to ask for which you won't see is their chicken fried rice Thai style. UNBELIEVABLE. Tom delivers to us every time and don't let the location be a challenge. Parking is near at Kent Street garage and the service is uncomparable. The Pad Thai is the best in town and their home-made "everythings" (dressings, desserts) are great!! I enjoy giving Tom and Joy my business regularly. This is the best overall restaurant for choice I think there is.

OK, time to talk about fries. Yeah, French Fries. Who'd associate an Asian place with fries? But remember, this place is so multifaceted, and run by a delightful couple who truly love what they're doing.

The fries are skin-on and brined. They're then fried in clean oil at just the proper temperature. (read: plenty hot) They're then lightly salted. The result? A pleasantly crisp and greaseless masterpiece. Absolutely addictive! They're served with sandwiches or on their own, and are NOT to be missed. Tom (owner) explained, "Yeah, I could serve cheap fries, but then they wouldn't be the best." Sorry Five Guys, these are hands-down the best fries in town. (or maybe ANY town)

GADS! What a jewel! Finally a truly superior Asian place in Winchester, where the folks are doing what they're doing because they love it, rather than just to get by. My wife and I went here today for lunch. I travel the country for a living, and eat lots of Thai, and I must say the coconut-chicken soup (tom gai) was the best I've ever had. Redolent of ginger and lemon grass and just enough heat to slighly bite back, the chef is mercifully light on the fish sauce, which can ruin this soup if too heavy handed. I can think of nothing more that could hit the spot on a cold day. It left us wanting more. The white meat chicken in the soup was tender, (not over cooked) and more generous than usually found. Pleasantly chewy mushrooms were also of the party. Stellar.
The special of the day was crispy beef or chicken, which came out hot and super crispy, dusted with corn starch (which crisps up much nicer than flour when deep fried.) with green beans and bell pepper. Served with white rice (did I taste garlic in the rice?) the crispiness was addictive, but a bit too sweet.
Also ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, tofu (tofu bland and a bit greasy) which came out of the kitchen with egg, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lime. VERY good, avoiding the two common pitfalls of this dish, it was not too sweet or heavy-handed on the fish sauce.
Can't wait to try the sushi here. This is my new favorite Winchester haunt. We wish them well!!
DON'T miss the key lime pie, which the chef's husband makes on premesis. NOT made with bottled key lime juice, but real key limes. I know this because i tasted zest in my teeth which can only be the real thing. Addictive crust, too. head for this place ASAP

Wow! Another excellent find in Winchester! Have been hearing about Chop Stick Cafe for a while now and finally decided to stop in. The sushi is extremely well made and quite tasty. The Tom Yum was simply the beat I have ever had. Joy the chef happily whipped up some summer roles with peanut sauce (mmmmmmm) for us even though we could find them on the menu. Her husbands "poppers" for dessert were absolutely sinfully good! I already know I want to try the calamari and basil basil sauce... again not on the menu... and the wraps they were fixing that we saw... gotta try those as well... Ok, we have many future trips already planned!

I have been to this place twice, and I still want to come back. The food includes different thai, japanese, and korean dishes and is the most genuine oriental food I have found in Winchester. While not a formal dining place like "Winchester Thai," it has the feel of a diner. Price ranges from $4-12 and they add more items to the menu depending on demand. Also ask the owner for his specialty bake goods because he is an expert on pies and cheesecakes (by request of course).

What also is convenient is that if friends or family are not into sushi or Thia food they also have classic American food like burgers, french fries and wings. The prices are reasonable and saw it was a clean atmosphere. There are TV's for sports or the children. They will also deliver....sushi too! Hugzzzzzzzzzzzz to JOY :)

This place is amazing. Their food is excellent - always fresh, always delicious. My whole family went there for a holiday celebration dinner and all 7 of us raved about our different orders. There was one tiny miscommunication about what I ordered, but the correct food was brought out promptly (and the delay provided me the opportunity to get tastes of all my family's dishes! LOL), and then they took 10% off our bill to apologize for the slight delay! That's the sort of service I like to get. Everyone makes mistakes on occasion - no big deal - but they "made it right" - spectacularly!

Thanks Chop Stick Cafe - you're my fam's new "go to" place for Thai food

And to the idiot who gave the single negative review - DUH! You order "Chinese" food in a Thai restaurant, and what do you expect!? Thai is completely different from so-called "Chinese" food served in America (which isn't really Chinese food at all, by the way). If you went into an Indian restaurant and ordered pizza you'd probably be disappointed with the food too. (shaking head at the ignorance of some people).

Thai beef noodle soup was pronounced as excellent by Mr.Chan. I loved the soft brisket and shrimp rolls. Pear pie was very good. When you need asian soup you no longer have to drive to arlington to get the good stuff !!

The food is great!! Not your typical Chinese food, but if you'd like to try something different I highly recommend it!

First of all the renovation of this old diner is brilliant. I don't see how the previous bad review could be directed at this restaurant? The food is fresh and handmade including all the desserts. Yes, there is a fusion of Asian/American foods going on here and it is very good. Probably one of my top two sushi experiences.

Chop Stick Cafe has been open a week and I have been there TWICE. I had excellant personalized service from the staff. I love their sushi & sashimi. I have never been a fan of eel, but they have converted me. Fried bananas and fried ice cream are divine. I am looking forward to trying the pear pie and some of the burgers. It is a great concept with something for everyone! I highly reccomend the restaurant!

Not very good. Me and a coworker ordered from there in hope of having a good downtown chinese place. But its not really chinese at all. Its more of a random fusion. Tried the nigiri sushi. It was ok but the good old fashioned california rolls were horrible. The ginger was bitter and sour and tasted old. My coworker got egg rolls. They were greasey and she found pieces of shrimp shell inside it. Her fried wontons were pathetic. The meat inside was the size of a dime. I know this place is new and it takes time to work out kinks but they screwed up the bacis simple things. I will give them one more chance, but that might not be for awhile.
