Go there and try the ice cream called The Kitchen Sink. You can thank me later. Yum.

Nothing special, very sterile looking atmosphere, ice cream was ok at best and way overpriced for the small scoop I got.
I left there feeling like I had been taken

I love that they are on the downtown mall. They have some of the best ice cream in town and their lunch specials are usually pretty good as well. Great to try on a hot day

This is by far the best icecream I've had in quite some time, my favorite being the chocolate chip! They are very friendly and always offer you to try their different flavor options before placing your order. Prices compare to other similar establishments in town.

I went to Red Fox today with my husband and children and am thrilled to finally give a review! The ice cream was to die for!!! My husband had the mocha, my son had the cherry, my daughter had fresh strawberry and I got the cookies 'n' cream. It was absolutely spectacular! The two girls who work there were very chipper which made the experience even more enjoyable! I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants some great ice cream!

The food is very good; the food prices are very reasonable; the ice cream is very good too, but costly. The service is a bit stand-offish. The hours are terrible. Don't dare walk in one minute after 4:00 PM - they stop serving food at 4:00 PM and seem to almost delight in telling you that 4:00 PM is the cut-off date - meanwhile they've got help there milling about but it would be just too much to slap together another egg-salad sandwich. I hope they make it but they'll need a course in customer service.

The icecream is good but overpriced. I paid $3 for a single scoop and the scoop was small. The staff working there is not very friendly either. I will go somewhere else for my icecream.

I LOVE their ice cream. Nothing compares to homemade, locally made ice cream! Their flavors are fantastic--my favorites are the caramel swirl, peanut butter twix, and fresh strawberry. Their lunch food is delicious too--the best chicken salad in town! You can't go wrong when you go to Red Fox. I'm looking forward to bringing my dog down to eat with me when they open their patio. When I go downtown I get ice cream for myself here and doggie ice cream at Posh Pets a few doors down!

Hot day today so I treated myself to a double scoop waffle cone of the twix ice cream. Very good! It was also cool to pay with my debit card on their ipad and sign my name with my finger. Hi-tech has come to the walking mall!

A friend and I recently stopped in at the Red Fox because we had heard great things about it....but were unfortunately disappointed. The staff was quite rude. When I asked if I could have a sample taste of a certain flavor (they have small wooden spoons on the counter for this) they responded with a loud, snappy, "Only if you're going to buy something!"....then closed the cooler and completely ignored my friend's request for a taste, too. The ice cream was good....but not so much better than others that I would go back for more shoddy treatment. I work at the George Washington Hotel up the street, and frequently have out of town guests ask where to go on the walking mall for snacks, sandwiches, or sweet treats.....I will not be sending them to the Red Fox.

Went there for the first time last Saturday and the ice cream was delicious. My girlfriend and I decided to stop in here after we had lunch at Brewbaker's and try the ice cream. I got a vanilla cone and she got the espresso ice cream. Both were very tasty. We will be stopping in here for dessert after eating at our favorite places on the Loudoun St. mall. I saw that the serve sandwiches as well, but I haven't tried them, so this review is for the ice cream only. Highly recommended.

Mighty fine ice cream (this is an ice cream review only)....no complaints about the chocolate ice cream, the key lime pie ice cream was quite, quite good (and all natural), and easy to find right on the plaza. Waitress a tad perky but no problems there. Mint Chocolate Chop has color added, but all else appears to be all natural. I think the best ice cream in town.

The best ice cream ever. My husband and I live in Pennsylvania and eloped in Winchester in February. We are planning to visit family in Winchester tomorrow and we have a stop at Red Fox on our list. We will never go to Winchester again without getting a cone while we're there. It's absolutely the most fantastic ice cream ever, too good to describe!

Visiting from Soloman's Island, Md.
My wife and I both had the chicken salad and we split a "B.L.T." soup. Yes, I said a B.L.T. soup. The chicken salad has a unique flavor. We ate every bite. Fantastic. Now the soup. AMAZING. we were truly shocked at the quality of our new found gem. We were treated like true friends, not customers. I wish we had room for their ice cream. That will happen Saturday when I bring our hosts with us. I overheard many complements from other guests just buying ice cream. We need Red Fox Creamery to come to our beautiful Soloman's Island. (hint...hint)

I went today for the first time. I had the large salad which ended up being just under $5, tax included. It was a really large, very fresh salad, complete with hard boiled egg, cheese, very tasty tomatoes, etc. They also included quite a few club crackers, which I think are preferable to Saltines. The owner/operator is very friendly and gracious. I am anxious to try the sandwiches, soups and ice cream on future visits!!

My wife and I found gem! We were at the Old Town Mall, and stumbled into Red Fox Creamery. I tried their ice cream, (mocha toffee crunch) and was blown away! We plan to go back soon to see if they sell pints to go.
