China Gourmet Review - February 04, 2012

China Gourmet - Vote 5 - I have been coming to CG for 20 years. It is and always will be the best authentic Chinese restaurant in the area. None of the quick frozen-so called 'Chinese' generic food you get at buffets! They have the best Hot and Sour soup in town! Lunch combos are ridiculously priced, don't think they've changed those in 20 years...$4.95 for entree/rice/soup and hot tea!! Yes Please!!!! This is Winchester best kept Chinese secret I think!!! LOVE IT!

China Gourmet Review - December 17, 2011

China Gourmet - Vote 1 - If you want smaller portions sizes, dumplings that are falling apart and not packaged properly with a not so tasty dipping sauce, this place is for you. Also, one set of chopsticks, even though two were requested, and one fortune cookie. Really? Not gonna order from them anymore. Other places that deliver for free (this place charges $1) serve better food in better containers and more of it! We were very disappointed.

China Gourmet Review - October 18, 2011

China Gourmet - Vote 3 - I decided to try this place for the first time over the weekend due to the positive reviews (and my love for Chinese food). The staff was very friendly and I liked the atmosphere of the place. The food however, was average at best for me. We tried the General Tso's chicken, Orange Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, and Chicken Cho-Cho. None of them were great, just average or slightly below average. I doubt I will order from here again as I have other Chinese places that I frequent on a regular basis where the food is better in my opinion.

China Gourmet - Vote 5 - This is the only chinese food restaurant i'll eat at in the area. The wonton soup and spring rolls are better here than anywhere else I have tried.

China Gourmet Review - April 02, 2011

China Gourmet - Vote 5 - China Gourmet is great. I have been eating here since I was in college back in the 90's. Their service is wonderful, and ordering pick up- which I do alot- is EXTREMELY fast- like 5 minutes to a max of 10. My favorite meal here is the Kung Pao Combination. I think it's better than any other chinese restaurant that I've been too. I also think that their hot and sour soup is better than other places as well. The staff is very friendly. You should go!

China Gourmet Review - March 19, 2011

China Gourmet - Vote 3 - We used to eat here every weekend and LOVED the General Tso's and Kung Pao Chicken - then around the start of 2011, something changed. It seemed to coincide with the man who always waited on us out front leaving. I don't know how that relates to the food unless he took the chef with him - but it hasn't been the same since. So, we are now starting to try out other local Chinese restaurants to see if we can find the flavor we loved again. The food is good overall, no bad experiences, just not the same as it was.

China Gourmet Review - January 16, 2011

China Gourmet - Vote 5 - Ordered the Szechuan Beef last nght and it was great! The spring roll was also pretty darn good. My wife had the hot and sour soup and says it's the best she's ever had. China Gourmet does a fantistic job and the price for their dinner meals is hard to beat.

China Gourmet Review - January 03, 2011

China Gourmet - Vote 5 - While this restaurant is pretty close to my house, I've never ordered from them until New Years Eve. I got carry out for my family. For myself I ordered the General Tsos Chicken. I like to base my opinion of a Chinese restaurant on my fav dish (General Tsos) and this did not disappoint me at all! The sauce was a very deep red, never seen General Tsos this dark before - it was very tasty and had just enough heat to get my taste buds going. I really liked the light bread coating, this is so much better than getting a thick coating that turns soggy. Very happy with my meal and plan on a dine in visit for the next time I want good Chinese food. Highly recommend!

China Gourmet - Vote 5 - I have eaten in here ever since I went to college and they opened in the early 1990's. Their food has always been good, and their staff is really friendly. Best chinese food in Winchester, ecspecially since House of Liu closed down...
