When I ask for the chicken with LOTS of veggies, they never disappoint! I generally get take-out/pick-up/delivery, but the few times I've been in the restaurant the wait staff seems quite competent. I love the atmosphere. The only thing keeping them from a 5 for me is they are a little on the pricy side for what you get. I had lunch there today and it was today and is always absolutely amazing! The service is phenominal and you always feel welcome. The lunch special servings are such a good deal. After ordering we then waited 45 minutes before asking our waitress to please check on our food. The restaurant was only half full, and diners who were seated after us already had their food. Our waitress came back 5 minutes late with 2 cold dishes of food that was suppose to be hot. She didn't even notice the plates were cold until we pointed it out to her immediately. She took the plates, and came back 10 minutes later with warm-hot food, but no apologies. It bothered me, and when I tried to politely mention it again to our waitress and one other, they seemed confused, and just walked away. So, before we left I mentioned it to a young man who seemed to be in charge, he made several lame excuses, but also offered no apologies and then added. "...and there isn't anything we can do about it because our owner is not here." I've eaten at hundreds of restaurants, and maybe I've just been lucky but have never been served cold food. Nor had to deal with clueless wait staff. Decided to give it another shot, and am glad I did. The coconut chicken soup was stellar. Hot, slightly sweet and tangy with lemongrass and hints of ginger it really hit the spot on a cold winter day. This soup rivals Chopstick Cafe which serves an equally satisfying bowl. Took a to-go order home to my wife who avowed that if she didn't get more, people could get hurt. The chicken satay was very pleasing. Cooked tender (not dried out) and served with a sweet onion/pepper/cilantro dipping sauce, and, of course the peanut dipping sauce, it even had my elderly and maddenly picky mother saying yummo. Pad See Ew with it's wide rice noodles, chicken, peppers and onions was generous and pleasingly smokey, albeit noodles a bit gummy. DON'T miss the sticky rice with mango for dessert. You know these people care when they'll tell you that the dish is not available when they can not get quality mangos.
