Mr. Noodle and Rice Review - February 04, 2012

Mr. Noodle and Rice - Vote 5 - This is my go-to place for sushi, I love this place. While there is a rather large turnover in staff, I have always had affable servers who are attentive. And I and my son and his mother have been there so many times that the manager/owner will always greet us. I rarely eat sushi anywhere else.

Mr. Noodle and Rice Review - January 22, 2012

Mr. Noodle and Rice - Vote 4 - I agree 100% with the customer's review on December 2nd.
RESPECT for your staff!
You can see the turnover is great. It seems the staff sucks it up, due to the lack of employeement.

Posting a work schedule week by week, is no life.
The owners own the restaurant, not the staff.

Purchasing your own uniform, when your are told specifically what to wear???

I am debating on patrognizing Mr. Noodle again...due the treatment of the staff.

Wal-Mart? I haven't seen the inside of one for 10 years, due to how they treat their employees.

Mr. Noodle and Rice Review - December 02, 2011

Mr. Noodle and Rice - Vote 2 - The food is excellent. The problem comes with how the staff are treated, which is as true servants who get little to no appreciation or respect and are flat out abused. It is outrageous. Do not be too surprised if you are among those who witness it blatantly in the dining area itself. Even more commonly you might very well hear it coming from the kitchen and serving station, and feel the negative vibes and tensions. As one who passionately avoids large chains and anything corporate , in favor of supporting the small local businesman and diversity everytime, supporting this particular business is supporting much of what I will not support in the world of big corporation. Do treat yourself to the excellent menu, but I feel we should all support the staff by letting the owners know directly that ill treatment of the staff will not be supported. The turnover rate is huge for a reason and the constant help wanted sign on the window is there for a reason. Particularly for the rare who, somehow and for reasons of their own, weather the treatment, I am sure extra tip compensation is well deserved, but I believe very important to make a stand for them directly with the owners as well. Perhaps this little restaurant can become one that can be fully supported in good conscientiousness and can come to thrive and survive in a way that seems highly unlikely without a change in treatment of employees.

Mr. Noodle and Rice Review - June 23, 2011

Mr. Noodle and Rice - Vote 2 - The sushi is alright and the food could be better. The worst thing about this place is the service. The waitresses are not attentive and it takes them 10-15 just to realize you need your check. The manager is crude and doesn't keep in touch with the customers unless they are Korean. She will chat it up with her fellow Koreans, but God forbid if she checks on a table herself. She is also the only one that can ring up a meal. I guess they hire incompetent servers or she has a trust issue. Over all, if you want a better version of Ramen Noodles or take out Chinese food, then you have come to the right place. I would rather eat at a Chinese Buffet then to eat there again. (at least the service is better)

Mr. Noodle and Rice Review - December 31, 2010

Mr. Noodle and Rice - Vote 2 - The food is always good, but tonight was NOT a 5 star night at Mr. Noodle. My girlfriend ordered a roll with a soy wrap...but when they brought the food out my two rolls and her roll was on MY plate. Looking at the rolls, you couldn't tell the difference between the two. Point of the story is when she asked for her roll, they stated that it came on MY plate. Nothing on my plate was wrapped in the soy wrap. The waitress told Mr. Noodle and his face was one of disgust... as if we did something wrong. The waitress stated that we could keep the roll (that was wrong) or they could take off the $2 extra is cost to have it wrapped in soy. Ummm crazy, how about suggesting we get all of our money back since it was their mistake. Secondly, the waitress told me I needed to not eat the roll, that Mr. Noodle wanted it back. WOW!!! I've never heard of this before. When the waitress took my plate back to him, he put it on the same bar that he makes his rolls on. This is not only unsanitary, but just down right GROSS.!!! Maybe someone should call the Health Department on this establishment. PS... I think someone else may have gotten that roll!!

Mr. Noodle and Rice - Vote 5 - My wife and I have eaten here twice, the food tastes great. We seem to forget about this place for some reason, but we love it. It's one of the best places to eat in Winchester. The noodles which are part of the Japanese dishes are amazing.

Mr. Noodle and Rice Review - September 02, 2010

Mr. Noodle and Rice - Vote 5 - The food here is great. The service is very good. Tonight I had spicy pork barbecue with steamed rice. It was really delicious and good quality food. The prices are very reasonable, too. My only complaint is that the menu descriptions aren't very complete. If I had not flippantly mentioned that I didn't like onions or peppers, I wouldn't have known that what I was ordering had loads of those, and other vegetables in it, because there was no mention of it on the menu. I'm certainly going back again.
